Mark up languages used HTML and XHTML to allow users to control how text and elements should be displayed. In 1990s W3C paid more attention to XHTML, which was a

version of HTML and much stricter to XML. XTHML was to make pages rendering more predictable by forcing we authors to create web page without syntax errors. The

difference between this two would be that HTML5 is the new version of HTML. It has three main aims:
1.Specify how browsers should deal with invalid markup
2. Provide and open, nonproprietary-programming framework creating rich web applications
3. Be backgrounds compatible with the existing web.
XHTML is syntax to act as a temporary transition to the eventual global adoption of XHTML strict. Overall is a extensible hyper markup language that extends versions

widely used HTML, language where web pages are written.
